The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity (CBHD), of Trinity International University, (founded by the EFCA), is sponsoring a multi-national online survey of attitudes and practices among Christians of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (A.R.T.), technology used for the purposes of reproduction. It includes insemination with sperm, in vitro fertilization (I.V.F.), gamete or zygote intrafallopian transfer (G.I.F.T. or Z.I.F.T.), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (I.C.S.I.), preimplantation genetic diagnosis (P.G.D.), and surrogacy where legal.

The primary investigator of the study is Dr. Megan Best, an Australian physician and recent author of Fearfully and Wonderfully Made: Ethics and the beginning of human life (Kingsford NSW, Australia: Matthias Media, 2012), a book I have previously recommended.

The survey can be accessed through the CBHD website and will be open until April 30. The results will be published online, as well as through peer-reviewed articles. The results will assist CBHD as they look to prepare resources to better equip pastors, leaders and others in this important area of life and morality.

I strongly recommend and encourage you to take the time to complete this survey, not only for CBHD but also for you and the ministry to God’s people in the local church! And if possible, encourage others to take the survey as well.
