Melanie Brunell, originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, grew up attending Fellowship Evangelical Free Church in East Tennessee. She holds her M.A. in English Literature and Film Studies, with a focus on Classic Hollywood and Japanese cinema. In college, the Lord gave Melanie a passion for missions among unreached people groups, and from 2014-2019 she served with ReachGlobal's Sapporo City Team. She joined the Tokyo City Team in 2020 and is currently engaged in full-time Japanese language acquisition in order to assist in church planting and disciplemaking in Tokyo.
