A Brief History of the Pro-life Movement
The Texas Alliance for Life has produced a powerful five-minute video rehearsing the history of the pro-life movement: My Generation Will End Abortion
Each woman speaking, including the very young, represent a year in the history of the pro-life movement since the legalization of abortion through Roe v. Wade (January 22, 1973).
And as they (and we) recommit to the sanctity of life,
- may we remember that “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Eph. 6:12).
- may we “take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm” (Eph. 6:13).
- may we pray and engage in this “fight for life” resting and laboring in the truth, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts” (Zech. 4:6).
In the providential mercy of God, might their refrain, “my generation will end abortion,” be true.
