Miskitu Mission
Along Nicaragua’s remote Miskitu Coast lives a people group—the Miskitu—who are familiar with Christianity yet have little grasp of the gospel. For three years now, Community Bible Church (EFC) of San Bernardino, Calif., has been sending mission teams there and bringing Bibles to area churches—typically composed of a few palm-tree trunks and a tin roof. More than 1,000 Miskitu Bibles have been provided, and some pastors have never before owned a copy of the Word in their primary language. “Once, a pastor who heard of our visit walked nearly two hours to get one,” says Joshua Hager, the church’s director of global outreach. Here, local men are taught how to use their Bibles for the very first time.
