New Life at Oceanside

The joy is incredible—and so are the waves—when Oceanside Christian Fellowship (EFCA) hosts its summer baptism service. Last August, 100 or so church members from the church in El Segundo, Calif., came to watch as 30 individuals shared their testimonies and were then immersed in the Pacific Ocean. Remembers Shannon Olson, director of mercy for the church, “We had fathers get baptized, mothers get baptized, a family get baptized, youth leaders get baptized and high-school students who just accepted Jesus at camp this summer get baptized. It was a special night.”
