Smiles From Afar

In February 2009, Jane Biggs and four other members of First EFC in Austin, Texas, traveled to Nagishot, in Southern Sudan, to visit their sister church: EFC-Sudan. Here, Jane is welcomed by 4-year-old Achulun, who is being raised by her Christian aunt and uncle within the EFC-Sudan compound. In Nagishot, the Austin team taught Community Health Evangelism classes, which enable villagers to escape cycles of poverty and live as followers of Christ. They are then encouraged to take the lessons to other villages. One of First EFC’s missionaries was also in Nagishot for a one-year stay, so the visit doubled as encouragement for her. First EFC has had a ministry partnership with EFC-Sudan since 2006.
