Staying Connected On and Off the Court

Missional moments in everyday life.

“All of us—not just the missionaries—live ‘sent’ to the community God has placed us in,” Sam Huggard said in an August 2016 interview with EFCA Now. "Whether you’re at a party in town or a sporting event, God has you there for a purpose, on mission.”

For Sam, part of his personal mission is to serve the New England District Association as superintendent—a role he took on last August. But another very important part of his mission involves coaching the middle-school boys basketball team at Alton Central School in Alton, New Hampshire. That’s the same town where Sam planted and pastored an EFCA church from 2006 until 2016.

"Coaching has been a great way to build relationships in the community and have an avenue of tangible service,” Sam says. "It has also been a great opportunity to be connected with my son in his world."
