Voices of the EFCA: Who Are Your Three?
Join a movement-wide initiative to reach the lost with the gospel.
In June 2025, leaders, pastors, missionaries and members from around the EFCA gathered at Valley Church (EFCA) in Des Moines, Iowa, for our biennial national gathering, EFCA One. In the closing session—in light of the world's increasing separation, animosity and hostility—I addressed our movement and offered a call:
"I want you to think of three people you know who do not yet believe the gospel of Jesus Christ...and I want you to pray for the salvation of those three people by name and ask God to give you opportunities and courage to tell them about Jesus, your first love.
At the end of that message, I asked EFCA leaders to go back to their churches and ask their congregants to do the same—to pray for three people by name, and to courageously and boldly speak Jesus to them as their only hope in life and death, between now and the next time we gather as a movement at EFCA One 2027.
In the few short months since we gathered in Des Moines, our country has experienced even greater division, violence, confusion, anger and grief. The call from EFCA One reminds us of the true hope for our country, our neighbors, our communities and our own brokenness. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the one and only lasting hope for our world.
In light of that, I invited three leaders from across our movement—Amy Medina (associate director of ReachGlobal Engage), Brad Wos (church planter at Ambassador City Church (EFCA)) and Tim Jacobs (district superintendent of EFCA West)—to join me to discuss how they're following the Great Commission in their unique ministry contexts and how important being missional is to our movement.
