
Douglas A. Sweeney
Douglas A. Sweeney is distinguished professor of church history and the history of Christian thought, chair of the department and director of the Jonathan Edwards Center at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He has written widely on the history of Christianity, early modern Protestant thought and global evangelical movements. His most recent books include The Essential Jonathan Edwards: An Introduction to the Life and Teaching of America's Greatest Theologian, co-written with Owen Strachan; Edwards the Exegete: Biblical Interpretation and Anglo-Protestant Culture on the Edge of the Enlightenment; and The Suffering and Victorious Christ: Toward a More Compassionate Christology, co-written with Richard J. Mouw.
